Music transforms the lives of children, and children will transform the world! That is why a nonprofit called Music Will is on a mission to ensure that every child has access to music education. For over 22 years, they have provided teacher training, curriculum, resources, and instruments to restore and expand music education in thousands of public schools nationwide. Their teachers currently serve over 640,000 students in more than 600 cities and towns across the country but they can't stop there! 3.7 million students don’t have access to music education, many of whom live in underserved communities where music education is being eliminated or is non-existent. Music education provides lifelong benefits in and outside the classroom, and Music Will is determined to provide it for as many as possible. They also believe that music education should reflect the cultures and interests of the students it serves. That’s why their programs have taught students popular genres such as rock, pop, R&B, Latin, rap and country—alongside styles already taught in schools, such as classical and jazz. Today, a national network of K-12 districts has adopted the Music Will program as their own. Additionally, more than 70 colleges and universities now use their approach to music education majors. Several state departments of education have partnered with Music Will to grow music education in the schools they serve. Its mission of transforming lives by transforming music education is truly a movement.
