WHY IT MATTERS
The Boys & Girls Clubs of Carson is the place where our community's youth are provided essential skills needed to thrive in school, work, life, and confidence is instilled so that- despite obstacles- their futures are filled with limitless possibilities.
We offer our young people a safe environment where they can have fun and be themselves, dedicated adult mentors who respect and listen to them, and outcome-based programs that empower youth to become lifelong learners.
BGCC serves over 2,650 youth who are most at-risk and in need of its services. The majority of the youth served (71%) is eligible for free or reduced lunch and are between the ages of 6 and 18.
The youth we serve reflects the diversity of the Carson community. Membership last year included 42% Hispanic, 35% African American, 13% Asian/Pacific Islander, 3% Caucasian, and 7% Other. The majority of our youth are economically disadvantaged. Last year,71% of our members were from households considered to be low or very low income according to federal guidelines.
Help us support these youths by providing art supplies such as crayons and construction paper for the Children of Carson, California.
